Gang of robbers busted; five arrested

LOHIAN:The Lohian Khas police on Monday claimed to have busted a gang of
robbers with the arrest of five accused. Sharp edged weapons were
recovered from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted raids in old Giddar Pindi
bridge areas where they were planning for robbery. Five accused were
arrested, and sharp-edged weapons were recovered from their
possession.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused
have been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi a resident of
Kutbiwal village , Harman Singh alias Harman Kalsi a resident of
Talwandi Madho village , Arashdeep Singh alias Arash a resident of
Mohalla Bidhi Chand , Shri Going Wal Sahib in Tarn Taran, JoshanPrit
Singh alias Joshan a resident of Pakho Pur village under Chohla Sahib
Police Station in Tarn Taran and Balwindar Singh alias Billa a
resident of Jabowal village under Sultan Pur Lodhi Police Station in
Kapurthala .
SHO said two unidentified accomplices of the accused managed to flee
from the spot.
SHO said that a case under sections 399(making preparation to commit
dacoity) and 402 (assembling for purpose of committing dacoity.) of
the IPC and section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against the
accused and Jaramanjit Singh alias Jammu son of Jarnail Singh a
resident of Hansa village under Shri Going Wal Sahib Police Station
, Rohit alias Ruhi son of Ram Pal a resident of Mandala village and
Avtar Singh alias Mangal son of Kuldip Singh a resident of Turr
village under Shiri Going Wal Sahib Police Station who were supplying
arms and ammunition to gang members .
