District police bust gang of robbers,arrest six

PHAGWARA:In one of major success, Kapurthala police have busted a gang of robbers by arresting its three members and seizing 10 mobile phones, one digital camera, one LCD and two gold ornaments from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Bagicha Singh of Dadwindi, Sonu of Kamalpur Bhathe Mothanwal and Harpreet Singh of Ghas Mandi in Jalandhar.
Disclosing further about gang, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that the robbers' gang was active in the district for the past some time and today its three members were arrested with 10 mobile phones, one digital camera, one LCD and two gold ornaments( Khanda) from their possession.
SSP further said a party of Fattu Dhinga police station got tip-off that some criminals involved in the incidents of robbery assembled in the area of Fattu Dhinga and conspiring to strike in the district. He added that acting swiftly under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Sultanpur Lodhi Sarwan Singh Bal and SHO fattudinga SI Amandeep Singh Nahar , different police teams were formed and moved to arrest the criminals.

He said that police teams immediately cordoned off the area and found that three of the gang members were gathered in a pit and the criminals tried to flee from there after spotting the police, but the alerted teams overpowered them.

HPS Khakh said that cases under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code have been registered against them in police station Fattu Dhinga.

He added that police would produce them before the magistrate and would seek remand to complete further investigation and arrest the remaining members of the gang.

Giving details of the past records of the criminals, the SSP said that these criminals are habitual offenders
