CHANDIGARH: In today's National Lok Adalat total 2940 were disposed of by the benches of serving Judicial Officers constituted in New District Courts Complex, Sector 43, Chandigarh.
The cases include 55 Criminal Compundable cases involving an amount of Rs.2, 63, 500/-, 2248 cases under Section 138 of N.I. Act involving an amount of Rs.74, 85, 489/-, 08 Bank Recovery Cases involving an amount of Rs.1, 41, 99, 000/-, 85 Motor Accident Claim cases involving an amount of Rs.10, 68, 29, 653/-, 42 Matrimonial/Family Disputes, 112 Civil Suits and Rent Cases involving an amount of Rs.14, 35, 000/- 89 Executions involving an amount of Rs.3, 94, 48, 551/-, 01 Criminal Revision, 30 Crl. Misc., 19 Civil Misc. involving amount of Rs.1, 55, 42, 624/-, 66 Arbitration cases involving an amount of Rs.13, 35, 42, 690/-, 02 Civil/Rent Appeal, 38 cases of 125 Cr.P.C., 30 cases of D.V. Act, 62 Untrace cases, 25 Criminal Appeals involving amount of Rs.54, 90, 000/-, 21 cases of ROC/Shop Act and 07 Guardian & Ward Act Cases were disposed of. 7745 Traffic Challans were also disposed of by imposing a fine of Rs.37, 20, 260/-.
In addition to above, 4982 pre-litigative cases involving an amount of Rs.31, 94, 224/- were disposed of by the Permanent Lok Adalat (PUS), 08 Labour Dispute Cases involving an amount of Rs.12, 95, 089/- were disposed of by the Labour Court. 308 cases were disposed of by DRT-III, Chandigarh and 62 Cases were disposed of by State & District Consumer Commissions, Chandigarh.
One MACT case was disposed of by Tribunal presided over by Ld. District & Sessions Judge, Chandigarh, whereby an amount of Rs.37, 00, 000/- was awarded as compensation to the parents/claimants of the deceased son of young age through amicable settlement with the Insurance company.
Lok Adalat was held under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, the State Legal Services Authority alongwith District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh organized National Lok Adalat today on 14.09.2024 in the District Court, Sector 43, Chandigarh.
Twenty one benches headed by the serving Judicial Officers were constituted in the District Courts, Sector-43, Chandigarh. Criminal Compoundable cases, cases under Section 138 of N.I.Act, Bank Recovery cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour Disputes, Arbitration matters, other Civil Cases, Municipal Matters and Traffic Challans were taken up and disposed off with the consent of the parties.
