CHANDIGARH:Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED) in
collaboration with Tech Mahindra Foundation initiated broadly three
online Skill Training Programs for the youth. Amid the Lockdown, these
programs served the mission to transform lives through learning and to
help minimize the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on
students.

The free of cost trainings were provided in Air-conditioning and
refrigeration repair, Office administration, Tally and
Entrepreneurship Development to provide livelihood support to help
curb the public with the effects of COVID19 specially youth. 30
students underwent training in Air-conditioning and refrigeration
repair, 41 in Office administration and Tally ERP9 and 42 under
Entrepreneurship Development. Apart from this trade the participants
were given additional inputs on Basic Computers, Spoken English and
Personality development. All the students are acquainted with job
opportunities post training.

Mr. Paramjit Singh, Director RCED shares his concern about the
pressing need for economic measures to stabilize and stimulate the
economy and protect people’s jobs and livelihoods. Such trainings
would provide a sigh of relief to the youth of our nation. The future
of the nation lies in the hands of our youth and they must not face
any difficulties, when it comes to building their own career. We
invite Youth, to come forward , take benefits of these free of cost
trainings and we promise them to help in getting wage employment or
self employment.

Mr. Paramjit Singh further adds that we are starting with more
programs in BPO trade. Anybody from anywhere can join these trainings.
More programs are being started in Kinnaur and Shimla District under
NSDC and SJVN Foundation. Another program in Khari, District Banihal,
J&K is also being started. More information about the programs can be
taken from our website. Youth can also register themselves on
https://rcedindia.com/. for undertaking our trainings.

The trainings are provided to make the candidate financially
independent through self employment or wage employment. Not only the
unemployed youth but the worst-case scenario is for employees who
don’t have a regular salary. For them, the virus outbreak has meant a
loss of livelihood which can be recovered by up skilling their traits
and talent through these trainings. These programs also served as a
healing procedure in the fight against depression, commonly witnessed
during this tough time.
