PSPCL abolishes 1049 posts at Ropar thermal

CHANDIGARH:Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has abolished
1049 posts of different cadres at Ropar thermal plant.
This decision was taken in 83rd. board of Directors meeting held on August 13.

At Ropar thermal Plant out of 1049 posts to be abolished 89 posts shall be adjusted against equivalent posts or higher scale vacant posts. The works in the coal handling plant will be outsourced as prevalent practices in the Lehra Thermal plant.
After outsourcing the work the Board of Directors shall take the decision to abolish these 39 posts. At Ropar thermal, the abolished posts include one Post of Superintending engineer.
35 posts of assistant executive engineers. 8 posts of XEN will be abolished in the future.5 posts of assistant engineers and 5 posts of JE have also been abolished.
The other abolished posts are of technical staff and supporting staff working at Ropar thermal plant.
Bhatinda thermal plant which has been shut down permanently 2167 posts of various categories has been abolished. Most of the posts are lying vacant for a long.
Punjab Government has the last moth advertised the Post of Director generation and likely to be filled in November.
