MOHALI: The Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) Department of the University School of Allied Health Sciences (USAHS) organized a one-day World Heart Day programme in Rayat Bahra University.
The day was celebrated by organizing various activities and awareness events in collaboration with Central Council of Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), branch PGIMER, Chandigarh, to raise awareness about heart disease and its preventive measures to manage cardiovascular complications amongst the Allied Health Students.
The CCRYN-CCMBIY is a Collaborative Centre for Mind Body Interventions through Yoga, which was established by Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN), Delhi and Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
According to Dr Pankaj Kaul, Dean, Allied Health Sciences, the event mainly focused on educating students and staff about the signs and symptoms of cardiovascular disease to avoid any further complications and encouraging people to inculcate a healthy lifestyle to prevent and control heart-related ailments.
Ibtisam Nazir, Assistant Professor, Dialysis, Bhim Singh, Sr Technical Officer, and Majid an intern, CVT, arranged various activities for the students. Suhani got 1st position in poster making and team of Md Wahib and Sohaib got 1st position in Techno Quiz competition.
Rayat Bahra University Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra and Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh appreciated the efforts put in by USAHS in organising such events which are beneficial to students.
