CHANDIGARH: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, will hold its 73rd Annual Convocation on 13 December, Saturday. Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, will preside over and address the 73rd Convocation.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig informed that the convocation has been advanced to December to allow our graduates to receive their degrees well in time for further studies and opportunities. It will enable departments and the students to complete formal academic processes earlier, without avoidable delays.
PU Registrar, Prof. Y. P. Verma, today held a meeting to review the preparations for the successful conduct of the convocation. The meeting was attended by Controller of Examinations, Prof. Jagat Bhushan, chairpersons of various committees, and key officers of the University.
The rehearsal for medal and prize winners and degree awardees will be conducted on 12 December, and participation in it is compulsory for attending the convocation. Those who do not attend the rehearsal will not be allowed to attend the convocation.
Those students who have cleared their Ph.D degrees after last convocation, would be awarded their degrees alongwith other degrees as per PU Rules. Medals for the toppers of all the 2024 examinations will also be awarded on the occasion. Identification cards and letters to eligible candidates have been issued by the University.
