Deliberations on Teacher Education at KCE

AMRITSAR:The deliberations were held today on Teachers Education-Quality Assurance at Khalsa College of Education (KCE) here today. The focus was how the education being provided to the students during the Covid times must sustain quality and a learning experience during these testing times.

The seminar cum workshop was organized by Canada based Jagat Punjab Sabha in which chief guest Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, honourary secretary Khalsa College Governing Council spoke about Punjabi language and its historical perspectives. He advised the younger generation and teaching fraternity to preserve, protect and propagate Punjabi traditions and language.

Ajaib Singh Chatha from Brampton gave a clarion call to the educators to be the role model and symbol of high ethical values for their students. He said humanity, respect and ethics must be core to education. He also discussed world Punjabi Conferences, which he and his team had been organizing for a long time in Canada. He proposed to Khalsa College Governing Council to write and publish books on Sikh Heritage and traditions in collaboration with KCGC.

Principal Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina from the Education Department, Punjab spoke about the current trends and challenges before the teachers and how they can overcome by updating themselves with the latest information. He added that the importance of teacher education and teacher training programs has become all the more important in the present times. He also informed the audience about Right of Education Act and National Educational Policies, qualities of a good teacher, inclusive education pedagogical techniques and role of teacher for sustainable development

Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Principal, KCE who earlier welcomed the chief guest and other speakers stressed on the need to preserve rich culture. Prof. Rajwinder Kaur, Dr. Satinderjit Kaur, Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur Sandhu and Satinder Kahlon also made their presentations.
