Sunder Prashanth moves up in doubles in Germany

CHANDIGARH: N Vijay Sunder Prashanth, pairing with Scott Puodziunas of Australia overcame a stiff resistance from Tomislav Draganja of Croatia and Mark Vervoort of Netherlands in an evenly contested doubles first round match in  the in the €46,600 ATP Challenger in Augsburg, Germany today.
Prashanth-Puodziunas won by 6-4, 6-7 (6), 10-7 in a match which lasted two hour and two minutes. Prashanth-Puodziunas won a total of 77 points out of 153 while their opponents won 76 points out of 153.
Prashanth-Puodziunas will now face pitted against Indian pair of second seeds N Sriram Balaji and Vishn Vardhan tomorrow.
MYNENI WINS IN SINGLES AND DOUBLES: Firing 10 aces and saving four out of five break points, 9th seed Saketh Myneni of India upset eighth seed Yuseong Chung of Korea in three-setter third round singles match by 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in one hour and 47 minutes in   the $ 54, 140 ATP Challenger in Yokkaichi (Japan).
With this win, Myneni advanced into singles quarter-final where his opponent will be Japanese Tatsuma Ito, third seed, who outplayed Japanse Shinji Hazawa, wild card, in straight sets 6-0, 6-3.
Myneni won two out of eight break points while Chung saved six out of eight break points and won one out of five break points.
Saketh Myneni, partnering Harry Bourchier of Australia upset Harri Geliovaara of Finland and Tsung-Hua Yang of Taipei 6-4, 6-1 in doubles first round match.
