Sacchitt Sharrma, Madhwin Kamath, Dev Javia and Sandeepti in quarterfinals

CHANDIGARH: Three Indians, top seed Sacchitt Sharrma, Madhwin Kamath  and fourth seed Dev Javia moved into boys singles quarter-finals in the ITF Juniors Circuit (Grade-3) for boys and girls under-18 at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.
Top seed Sacchitt Sharrma  defeated qualifier Adit Sinha in three setter marathon match. Sacchitt Sharrma won the 1st set 6-3. Adit Sinha fought back and won the 2nd set 7-6(3). In the final set Sacchitt Sharrma fired few aces and used his experience to clinch the final set and match 6- 2 without getting much pressure.   
Another Indian player Madhwin Kamath upset 5th seed Alexander Gaponenko of Israel  in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Fourth seed Dev Javia defeated Ethan Kai Xin Lye (SGP) 6-3, 7-6(5) to advance into next round.  Second seed Stijn Pel (NED) overplayed Xiaofei Wang of China 6-4, 6-1.  
In the girls’ singles pre-quarterfinals second seed Mai Napatt Nirundorn of Thailand had a smooth sailing as she defeated Jagmeet Kaur Grewal of India in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Sandeepti Singh Rao of India progressed her winning into quarterfinals of girls singles. Sandeepti Singh Rao defeated another Indian player  Farhat Aleen Qamar in easy match 6-1, 6-1. Qualifier Malaika Rapolu (USA) upset 8th seed Kaavya Sawhney 6-0, 7-6(5).
 In the boys doubles quarterfinals Sacchitt Sharrma (IND) and Laaroussi Lalami Y (MAR) defeated Fons Van Sambeek (NED) and Niels Visker (NED) 4-6, 6-0 [10-7]. Another Indian players Nishant Dabas (IND) / Kabir Hans (IND) also advanced into semifinals.
In the girls doubles quarterfinals Priyanshi Bhandari (IND) and Rutuja Chaphalkar (USA) upset top seed Weronika (POL) and Holly Fischer (GBR) in straight sets 6-2, 7-5. Another big upset for M. Safi (IRI) and S. Wang (CHN) defeated 2nd seed M. Marathe (IND) and M. Napatt (THA) in setter match 4-6, 6-3 [13-11].
