Prajnesh in singles q-finals; Myneni/Sharan in doubles semis

CHANDIGARH: Top seed Prajnesh Gunnerswaran of India barged into singles quarter-final after beating 16th seed Goncalo Oliveira of Portugal in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 25 minutes in the third round of the  $ 81,200 ATP Challenger Tennis Tournament in Shanghai (China) today.
Prajnesh fired eight aces and committed two double faults while Oliveira had three aces and three double faults to his account. Gunneswaran's first service was 60 per cent in and save the lone break point which came his way. He won two break points out of five. Oliveira's first service was 59 per cent in and saved three break points out of five. He could not converted the solitary break point.
Prajnesh  Gunnerswaran will face eighth seed Hiroki Moriya of Japan in quarter-final.
Second Indian pair of Saketh Myneni an Divij Sharan ousted Joh  Paul Fruttero of USA  and Toshihide Matsui of Japan 7-6 (2), 6-3 in doubles quarter-final match in one hour and 23 minutes.
Myneni/Sharan, who unleashed seven aces and without committing a single double fault, won 76 total points while their opponents scored three aces and committed six double faults. Fruttero/Matsui , who saved six out of  nine break points, earned 53 total points.
Myneni/Sharan will now contest against Australilan duo of Marc Polmans and Scoot Puodziunas in quarter-finals.
