FCI beat Himachal 8-1; Delhi prevail over Kerala 4-3

CHENNAI: Hockey Maharashtra, Manipur Hockey, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, Central Industrial Security Force, Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Coorg, Food Corporation of India, Delhi Hockey and Sports Authority of India registered victories in their respective round robin matches on Friday in the 9th Hockey India Senior National Hockey Championship 2019 (Men) B Division in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.  

Hockey Maharashtra beat Telangana Hockey 5-3 in their Pool A match. Telangana Hockey's Ramkrishna Bodigum (25th, 40th, 58th) scored a hat-trick of goals but in vain as a collective effort by Hockey Maharashtra and goals by Taleb Shah (32'), Rahul Rasala (33th), Ajit Shinde (42nd, 52nd) and Bhushan Dhere (56') ensured they won the match.  
In a high-scoring Pool B match, Manipur Hockey beat Hockey Andaman & Nicobar 19-0. Mani H Singh (2nd, 20th, 36th, 45th, 51st), Nirajkumar Waribam (5'), Rabichandra Moirangthem (7th, 37th), Dipu L Singh (12th, 40th, 42nd), Sanjoymani Mairembam (18th, 19th), Dollar Kshetrimayum (26th), Laishram Mantosh (30th), 41st), Thingam Herojit (43rd) Heramani Singh Lisham (48th), Ningombam Bhakar (53rd) scored in Manipur Hockey's win.  
In a Pool G match, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu beat Assam Hockey 13-1. Goals for the winning team was scored by V Vinod Rayer (8th, 19th, 36th), K Selvaraj (17th, 39th), P Dhamu (22nd, 47th), J Joshua Benedict Wesely (26', 40'), S Manikandan (28th, 60th), N Navinkumar (56th), K Ajay (59th). For Assam Hockey, Shubham Singh (29th) was the lone goal scorer.  
Meanwhile Hockey Madhya Pradesh drew with Hockey Mizoram 2-2. After a 2-0 lead by Hockey Mizoram through goals by Lalhlimpuia (2nd) and Vanroluaha (11th), Hockey Mizoram conceded goals in the 13th and 59th minute through Prakash Singh Rawat and Sushil Maharashi of Hockey Madhya Pradesh to settle for a draw.  
Central Industrial Security Force beat Hockey HIM 6-1. Harpreet Singh (29th, 49th), Niraj Yadav (37th), Sangram Chougule (44th), Abhash Sharma (56th) and Basant Bharadwaj (60th) scored for the winners while Kapil (39th) was the lone goal scorer for Hockey HIM.
In another closely fought Pool D match, Chhattisgarh Hockey beat Andhra Hockey Association 3-2. For the winners, Junaid Ahmad starred with three back-to-back goals in the 27th, 31st, 48th minutes while Gopal Raju Goddindla (15th) and Harish Pamisetty (51st) scored for Andhra Hockey Association.
Hockey Coorg beat Goans Hockey 10-1 in their Pool H match. Hemanth Devaiah (14th), PA Machaiah (23rd, 30th, 50th), Deekshit SP (28th, 52nd), N Sridhar (33rd, 46th), IA Poovanna (57th, 60th) scored for the winners. While Pandurang Sankhalkar (5th) scored for Goans Hockey to take an early 1-0 lead but in vain.
Food Corporation of India beat Hockey Himachal 8-1 in their Pool F match. Manish Sharma (2nd), Venkatesh Devkar (7th, 21st, 25th), Avoy Ekka (35th), Ganendrajit Ningombam (38th, 49th) and Sandeep Joshua (55th) scored for the winning team while Jaswinder Singh was the lone scorer for Hockey Himachal. In a closely-fought Pool E match, Delhi Hockey beat Kerala Hockey 4-3. Ashish Sharawat (7th), Skipper Simpinder Singh (25th, 34th) and Rajiv (36th) scored for Delhi Hockey while Nishant M (29th), Shjin S (32nd) and Vineeth (33rd) scored for Kerala Hockey. In a Pool H match, Sanjit Beck (47th) scored to help Sports Authority of India beat Steel Plant Sports Board.
