Delhi and UP post facile wins in NZ Audit Cricket

CHANDIGARH:Delhi and AG Uttar Pradesh recorded facile wins on the opening day of the Indian Audit & Accounts Department North Zone Cricket Tournament here today.
Chasing a target of 86 runs for victory, Delhi achieved the target in 16.1 overs by scoring 87 for 3 in reply to 85 of Jammu and Kashmir to post seven wickets victory at the GSS School ground in Sector  26.
AG UP handed out a nine-wicket thrashing to AG Punjab. AG HP posted 123 in 31.5 overs, with Amit Thakur and Abhimanyu Rana contributing an identical score of 30 at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium.
AG UP replied with 126 for 1 in 16 overs. Openers Rakshan Faraz (43 not out, 7x4s) and   Tahir Abbas (45, 8x4s) were associated in 98-run partnership for the first wicket stand.
J and K: 85 in 25.4 overs (Vimrash Kaul 22, Asif Khan 10, Bandeep Singh 9, Waseem Raza 23, Kuldeep Rawat 2 for 24, Abhinav Bali 3 for 8, Sidhant Dhobal 2 for 15, KS Rana 3 for 18).
Delhi: 87 for 3 in 16.1 overs (Lokesh Sharma 26, Abhinav Bali 28 not out, Ankur Julka  14, Prateek Pawar 8 not out, Mehjoor Sofi 2 for 22, Rahil Singh 1 for 8).
AG HP: 123 in 31.5 overs (Amit Thakur 30, 4x4s, Varun Sharma 18, Abhimanyu Rana 30,   Atish Bhalaik 15, Akshay Chauhan 15, Satish Dorai 4 for 20, Abhishek Tiwari 3 for 36, D. Panday 2 for 27,  Rijwan Ahmed 1 for 15). Delhi  win by seven wickets.
AG UP: 126 for 1 in 16 overs (Rakshan Faraz 43 not out, 7x4s,  Tahir Abbas 45, 8x4s, Ritesh 7 not out, Gaurav Kumar 1 for 17). AG UP win by nine wickets.
Mr Samar Kant Thakur, IAAS, Director General of Audit, Defence Services, Chandigarh inaugurated the tournament at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16 here. Mr Jagbans Singh, Additional Deputy CAG was present and Shri Faisal Imam, IAAS, Accountant General (Audit), Haryana presided over the function.
