Punjab ministers visit flood hit areas of Anandpur Sahib

ANANDPOUR SAHIB: Cabinet ministers Charanjit Singh Channi and Sunder Sham Arora, who are part of a committee constituted by the Chief Minister in the wake of unprecedented floods being faced by the state, on Sunday visited the  affected areas and directed the concerned district authorities to ensure all necessary help and assistance to the needy and ensure their rehabilitation at the earliest.

Captain Amrinder Singh's government has also requested the Central Government to issue due compensation package for the damages witnessed by the state so that all affected areas could be one again brought into mainstream, they further said.

Immediately after reaching Kisan Haveli at Shri Anandpur Sahib Charanjit Singh Chennai and Sunder Sham Arora held review meeting with the officials to enquire about the present situation first hand. On the occasion the ministers directed the officials of public Works Department to and restore the contact link of village Burj with connecting roads so that the residents could once again be connected with other adjoining areas. After this, the Ministers personally inspected the prevailing situation.

They also instructed the Department to immediately carry out the repair work of link roads connecting Village Burj so that residents could be connected with Sri Anandpur Sahib and other areas.
