Power demand in Haryana exceeds 9700MW

CHANDIGARH:The power demand in Haryana today exceeded 9700 MW first time after the start of paddy season June 15. Initially the demand did not showed any increase due to weather vagaries last week.

On Monday the power supplied in the state was 1977 lakh units with the maximum demand of 9244 MW .The thermal units in the state supplied 515 lakh units.Yamuna Nagar thermal units supplies 122 lakh units and Khedar thermal units supplied 100 lakh units.Two units of Panipat thermal supplied 77 lakh units. CLP thermal plant at Jhajjar supplied 216 lakh units.

The power demand in Haryana is likely to touch 10500 MW this year during paddy season. Haryana has long term power purchase agreement of 1424 MW  with Adani.

 In the adjoining Punjab power demand remained steady between 11000 MW and 12000 MW and state is supplying power between 2500 to 2600 lakh units daily.

The water level in Bhakra is 488.93 meters which is more than 32 meters higher corresponding to same day last year level of 456.50 meters.
