HDFC ergo constructs multi purpose assembly hall at the govt primary school in sarsai

SHIMLA:HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Ltd., India’s leading private sector non-life insurance provider, constructed a multi-purpose Assembly Hall at the Govt. primary school in Sarsai village located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The initiative is a part of the Company’s flagship CSR program ‘GaonMera’ which focuses on improving the standard of education, sanitation, healthcare & livelihood across rural areas in India.
HDFC ERGO adopted the Govt. Primary School in Sarsai village in 2017 and reconstructed the school in its entirety; thusimproving the standard of education imparted. This has encouraged the enrolment of students in the school. Dedicated to improve the current state of education, sanitation, healthcare& livelihood across rural India, HDFC ERGO has already completed construction of 6 schools in the rural areas of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. Continuingtheir efforts in this direction, the Company has adopted 6 more villages, with on-going reconstruction of theschoolsinstates across India, under the flagship CSR programme ‘GaonMera’.
Samir H. Shah, Executive Director & CFO, HDFC ERGO General Insurance said, “We worked with the local authorities, school teachers, parents and communities in Sarsai to reconstruct the Govt. Primary School in 2017, and helped provide the children with the basic foundation to pursue their dreams. Having said that, our intent is to bring about a positive change in the lives of the rural population. We are therefore very happy to build a new Assembly Hall in the school premises which will further enhance the schooling experience for the children in Sarsai.”
