CHANDIGARH: Haryana Power Generation Engineers Association (HPGEA) demanded the implementation of transfer and posting policy and has decided to join protest rally against Electricity Amendment bill 2014 at Panchkula on March 14.

Vikas Rathod General Secretary of the Association said that Haryana Power Generation Company Limited (HPGCL) has circulated the transfer policy but its implementation is not being made due to various considerations. As per policy the engineers sitting in head office and on non shift posts are not being posted in shifts and vice versa whereas as per policy every officer has to perform shift duty at Executive Engineer and AE/AEE level for a minimum period of 2 & 3 years respectively.

Rathod said that power sector engineers are agitated over the Government of India’s unilateral decision to pass the proposed electricity amendment bill 2014 without prior discussion with them. The engineers had suggested a number of changes in the proposed bill which then power minister had agreed to incorporate the suggestions in the bill.
