Haryana police arrests truck driver for smuggling 400 kg 'dodas'

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Police has arrested an accused who was involved in smuggling of 400 kg doda post in Sirsa district.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused was identified as Amrendra Singh, a resident of Ramgarh Sainiya, district Fatehgarh in Punjab.

He said that a Police team during night patrolling on July 18, had recovered 400 kg doda post from a canter near Khalsa school, Dabwali. Taking advantage of darkness, the driver managed to escape after abandoned the vehicle. A team was constituted for his arrest which finally nabbed him on the basis of intelligence and other inputs.

Accused would be taken on remand by producing them in the Court so that involvement of others in this racket of drug peddling could be unearthed, he added.
