Forty girls of Himachal Pradesh on a mission with purpose

CHANDIGARH: Five-day mission a purpose of forty girls  from  Hamirpur I Parliamentary constituency n Himachal Pradesh concluded here at Chandigarh Press Club on Tuesday with media interaction. These girls who were toppers in Class X and XII undertook to the mission under “Saansad  Bharat Darshan” programme, an unique initiative of Mr Anurag Thakur, Member of Parliament, Hamirpur.

Of these 20 girls visited Pune and the other Benguluru. Their expedition started with a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi and on the last day they met the Vice President of India. The initiative not only inspired and motivated us but also expand our horizon. Such programme should continue for the students especially who belong to hill states,” said girls of Class X.

Besides providing multifaced experiences during the tour, it will also provide us the immense confidence and will definitely help in their career, said Anurag Thakur.   

They visited major places of Pune like MIT University, took  a tour of Shanivar Wada Palace, saw the  National Defence Academy, visited Aga Khan Palace, MIT peace dome,  Raj Kapoor Memorial which is related to yesteryears' iconic film actor and maker Raj Kapoor, they also visited Centre for Development of Advanced Computing(CDAC).

In Bengaluru they were taken to witness the Bangalore Tech Summit, Army Service Cops Centre, ISKON temple, Visvesvaraya technical museum, planetarium, ISRO satellite centre and IISC.

Each girl enjoyed and learnt a lot from the tour. A member of the group Parul stated “We gained a lot of experience and knowledge about a lot of things regarding science, history, Indian army forces, technology etc. The best part was that we witnessed things first hand and in a practical manner."

Another girl Vibhuti  said, “We came out of Himachal for the very first time and hot to see other parts of India and how people lived in these densely populated and economic hubs of the country. We are really happy to have learnt newer cultures, traditions and experience new languages. "

The girl students from Himachal not only visited different parts of the country in a tour programme which combined both learning and tourism , which is the theme of 'Saansad Bharat Darshan', but also met with dignitaries like Vice President of India. It was a holistic and well coordinated exercise, summed up  the In Charge of the programme.
