CHANDIGARH:Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) today held a meeting at Chandigarh  with Ranjit Chutala Haryana Power Minister
to discuss their grievances and improve the working of power utilities.
The meeting was held in the presence of Krishan Bedi Political Secretary to CM, MD HVPN   and senior officers of Nigams. The thirteen-member Association delegation  was led by Rampal Singh President and K K Malik General Secretary.
K K Malik General Secretary said that the Association pointed out that non-passing of accounts examination by engineers has no effect on the performance of officers. Moreover, no training of accounts is given to engineers after joining the service. The Association demanded that rules to terminate engineers who do not clear these papers in scheduled times should be amended.
Rampal Singh President informed that during 45 minutes meeting the power minister principally agreed with all the demands including taking back of terminated and reverted engineers, settling the pay scale issue on the entry-level of SDO, restructuring of power utilities for its better performance,  transparent transfer policy and no extension to director after superannuation.
Malik said that all the demands were principally agreed but due to the nonavailability of Additional Chief Secretary Power and CMD of power utilities, it was decided to discuss the issues with them before making a decision. On the issue of revision of the pay scale of assistant engineers, MD HVPNL was requested by the association to put the issue in the coordination committee.
