What details to correct in JEE Main 2020 Form Correction Window?

JEE Main 2020 Application Form Correction window for January session is available from 14th to 20th October 2019. Candidates who successfully completed their registration process and paid the examination fee will be able to access the correction facility. Additional fee has to be paid if candidates opt for Both Paper I and II or make changes in their reservation category. Exam center preference is one option that cannot be edited.

NTA conducts JEE Main for admission to various engineering courses in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Application Process for January session has closed and exam will be conducted from 6th to 11th January 2020. After form correction process, NTA will release JEE Main 2020 Admit Card for January Session on December 6, 2019.

Application Form Correction Procedure:

Making mistakes while filling out the application form for Joint Entrance Examination Main is common due to confusion or hurry.It is advised to carefully fill the application form as any discrepancy in details mentioned and documents submitted can lead to rejection of the application form. Candidates who submitted incomplete application form will not be eligible for form correction. By any chance mistakes have occurred, authorities do provide the facility to amend them.

 Candidates have to visit the NTA/JEE Main official website and click on ‘Correction in Application Form of JEE Main January and April 2020 Examination.” Application Number, Password and Security Pin will be required to access the correction window.  Instructions should be scanned properly mentioned under manage form particulars correction.  The final step is to edit the information that needs correction.

 Details that are open to Editing in Application Form Correction facility:

 Candidates can change their personal details (Name, Parents Name, Address) in case spelling mistakes have occurred.

 Academic information like class 10th or 12th marks can be edited. Minimum 75% marks are required in Class 12th or a rank among the top 20 percentile of the respective board.

 

  • Medium of exam can also be modified, three language options are available- English, Hindi and Gujrati.

 

  • Domicile and Date of Birth can also be corrected in the form. There is no age limit to appear for the exam, candidates appearing in class 12th boards or passed in 2018 or 2019 are eligible to apply.

 

  • An important change available is to change the choice of paper from Paper I Paper II and vice-versa. Both the papers can also be selected for which extra fee has to be paid.

 

  • Provision to change category will also be provided. JEE Main reservation percentage for  OBC-NCL is 27%, EWS is 10% ST is 7.5%, ST is 15% and 5% for PwD category. Candidates should be clear on their reserved category as no claim whatsoever will be entertained later on in the selection process.

 

Additional fee has to be paid if candidates opt to appear for both Papers I and II. Also, Change of category from SC/ST/PwD/Female to General/OBC NCL demands additional fee.

Candidates should note that no refund of fee will be done if category is switched from general to reserved. While if category is changed from reserved to general, balance fee has to be paid.

 

In case candidates opted for both Papers I and II and later decide to opt for only one, no fee will be refunded. Changes will be made to the application form if no extra fee is required, the final changes will be done once fees will be paid. Additional fee can be paid either by Credit/Debit/SBI Buddy/Paytm or through e-Challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank.

JEE Main 2020 Image Correction

 NTA provides the facility to remove discrepancy in image as well. The window was made available on September 13. 2019 and no deadline for the same is mentioned by the agency.  Image Correction facility is to cross check the uploaded image and signature and in case of error reupload the same in appropriate format.

 Candidates should not get confused between the two facilities, Image correction is to be done if the photograph is blurred, not as per specifications, Signature in capitals or not clear.  As per guidelines uploaded image must include name and date. Updated images will be displayed soon after corrections. 

 

Status of Application form can be checked by logging in using application number and password. Received status means the form submission is successful while Unsuccessful will be displayed in case form is Incomplete/Rejected or Not Submitted successfully. Candidates facing trouble in Form correction can clear their doubts via mail/call on JEE Main helpline.
