Punjab CM has compromsied with cable mafia, alleges MLA Simarjit Singh Bains

CHANDIGARHH: Simarjit Singh Bains MLA of Lok Insaf Party, supporting AAP has alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has compromised with cable mafia and has allowed the Fastway cable network, controlled by Badal family, to continue in business.

Addressing media persons in Vidhan Sabha gallery yesterday, Bains alleged that Gurdip Singh who is Managing Directro of the Fastway Cable Network has told his friends in private that he had struck a deal with Capt Amarinder Singh and nobody in the state government would disturb his business.

Bains further alleged that Gurdip Singh had claimed to have paid Rs.100 crores in advance to the CM and will pay Rs.20 per connection per month to the Chief Minister. According to Bains Fatway has about 55 lakh cable connections in Punjab and it means Fastway would be paying Rs.100 crore every month.

Bains said that Congress party and particularly Chief Minister during elections had made a promsie to wipe out cable mafia from Punjab. He questioned the silence of Chief Minister on the issue. Bains who has been suspended from Vidhan Sabha for the rest of Budget session said that PTC news channel was functioning normal and promoting the interests of Badal family.

Sukhpal Singh Khaira AAP MLA who was present said  alleged that nothing has changed in Punjab withe change of government. All mafias which were earlier controlled by Akali Dal leaders have now transferred into the hands of Congress leaders. He said that both these parties have cheated the people of Punjab. He said that Congress was exposed on sand mining and its control over sand mafia.  He said that CN was also soft on transport mafia.
