CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party Sangrur Member of Parliament (MP) and Punjab unit chief Bhagwant Mann on Monday said that the allegations of the proverbial bonhomie between the Badals and Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh his party had been leveling stood ratified.
Interacting with media person after witnessing the Punjab Vidhan Sabha budget session proceedings here on Sunday, Mann said that an open admission of the government’s failure by none other than minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa in the presence of Captain Amarinder Singh, was a point to ponder over, He alleged that because of the failure of the government, tainted people like Bikramjit Singh Majithia were walking free without any fear of the law.
Some other ministers and MLAs were visibly upset over the developments happening on the floor of the House with the CM sitting like a lame duck initiating no action against the Badals. Mann said that had the captain not been conniving with the Badals, persons like Majithia would not have the temerity to misbehave with ruling party’s cabinet rank minister. Rather he should have taken the outspoken Majithia upfront. Even an irate cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu dubbed him (Majithia) as merchant of ‘chitta’ (drug), accusing the captain of colluding with the Badals .
Mann said that due to his bonhomie with Badals, Capt. Amarinder has started ignoring the advice of his own ministers so he has no right to continue as chief minister of state. Talking about the Budget, Mann said there is nothing new in the budget presented by finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal and the promises made with the people of state in last budget were repeated along with new couplets on the floor of house.
