PHAGWARA:Sukhjit Mega Food IPark. Phagwara organized an lnvestment Promotion meet today at Phagwara for showeasing the tacilities being ereated by the Mega Food Park and inviting the Food Processing units for Investment in the Park.
Bhavdeep Sardana. Director elaborated that the Mega Food Park has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. Govt. of India and is being set up at Rehana Jattan. Tehsil Phagwara. District Kapurthala. ercating affordable lnfrastructure for the Food Processing Industry besides facilitating direet procurement of various erops including perishables Irom larmers, resulting in their better realization to them.
The Promoter of the Mega Food Park M/s The Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals 1Limited is also setting up a 600 TPD M.aize processing unit in the Mega Food Park as its Anchor unit. Ihis will ereate huge demand of maive, a very low water intensive erop which will help in brek ing the wheat paddy cyele in the State and will not only save the depleting water table of the State but also save the region trom Stubble burning.
lle further stated that the project is in its advance stage of commissioning and is expected to commence its operations by last quarter of this linancial year.
