Mohali DC allows public dealing in banks from 10 am till 2 pm, with some restrictions

MOHALI: The District Administration has allowed the public dealing in the banks all across the district from 10 am till 2 pm on working days, but with some restrictions.

Disclosing this, the Deputy Commissioner,   Mr. Girish Dayalan said that only cash transactions, clearing, remittances and Government transactions shall be performed. Besides, pensions would be disbursed through the business correspondents.

All branches including treasury/currency chests would remain open with minimum staff.

The DC further emphasized that the people must follow social distancing guidelines and avoid crowding, failing which there shall be penal action. Branch Manager may report such violations to local Police Station.

He informed that only one member of the family/ household shall be allowed to step out to go directly to the Bank, that too on foot along with bank pass-book. Immediately after finishing the work, the person shall return to his home.

He said that a person need not visit his home branch but may visit the nearest branch of the same bank. However, all ATMs would remain open 24x7.

As per the orders issued by him, the use of vehicles to go the bank shall not be allowed. If anyone requires the use of a vehicle to visit the Bank, for any reason, he/she shall first apply for a short-duration curfew pass online (https://epasscovid19.pais.net.in/) and only after it is granted, visit the Bank.

On the other hand, the employees of the bank shall be only allowed to go to work and return/ or on official bank duty on production of Bank ID .Any violation of curfew by Bank employees by use of ID for any other work, shall render them liable for penal action.
