LMA Award for Dr. Manoj Kumar Principal, DAVIET, JAL

LUDHIANA :LMA-Dayanand Munjal Award for Manager of the Year 2017 conferred upon Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET at its 40TH Anniversary & Annual Awards Distribution ceremony at Ludhiana. The award was established with the aim to promote and develop management education and to encourage the young managers and entrepreneurs for their contribution in the field of academia and industry. The Chief Guest of the function was H.E Acharya Dev Vrat, Honorable Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

Dr. Manoj Kumar after receiving the award expressed his happiness and gratitude towards LMA for recognising his efforts in the field of academics. He highlighted the fact the we are living in a knowledge economy where each and every decision of ours is centered about acquisition and dissemination of knowledge. He expressed his desire to keep on working in the development of technology and means of communication so that the budding technocrats and managers of the region do not lag behind in their journey on information superhighways. Further, he also highlighted the role and support of the mentors at DAVCMC, New Delhi for always guiding and standing by each and every endeavour of DAVIET.

Acharya Dev Vrat while addressing the audience said, that knowledge is now the most important resource for the development of any economy, and therefore its creation and dissemination should be the universal focus of policy makers, organizations, academicians and professionals. He also highlighted the fact that any policy which does not focus on dissemination of knowledge will not be able to have the desired results.

Mr. Jatin Singh MD, Skymet Weather Services Pvt. Ltd., delivered the keynote address on the theme Empowering Through Weather Forecasting and highlighted the role of accurate forecasting of weather for the overall growth of the nation. He maintained that it was important for all the stakeholders to acknowledge the premise ‘forewarned is forearmed’.
