ITIHAS software to be linked with COVA app for contact tracing of covid-19 positive patients to be introduced soon: Kumar Amit

PATIALA:To make the cumbersome contact tracing process of Positive patients easy, State is going to implement ICMR approved software ITIHAS from next week, said Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit today.
Responding to the queries raised by the residents on facebook page 'dpropatiala', during weekly live, Mr. Kumar Amit added that
ITIHAS software would be integrated with the COVA app to trace all the traffic and contacts of the COVID-19 positive person to know history for the last 10 days.
Cautioning the residents of spread of CORONA, the Deputy Commissioner said that we can win the war against COVID-19 by abhering to all the precautions in principle. Apprising the residents of Mission Fateh, a campaign to make state and district COVID free, launched by Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, DC Kumar Amit exhorted that wearing mask, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently should be part of our daily routine.

Replying to the Harjot Singh who had suggested to take help of telecom operators for contact tracing, Mr. Kumar Amit said that the ITIHAS software would start working in the next few days to keep vigil on the activities of any positive person and looking for his/her contacts. He also said that the software would also inform about the gathering of more than 30 people at one place with the help of information technology to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Responding to a query by Harpreet Uppal and Amarinder Singh on Dengue prevention, Mr. Kumar Amit said that arrangements have been made for fogging in villages and towns and door to door checking of larvae was going on. The houses where the larvae are found, have also been challaned.

Replying to the queries raised by Rishabh Gupta, Vishal Verma, Jantesh Kumar, Harpal Singh, Mandeep Pal Singh etc. regarding the weekend curfew, Mr. Kumar Amit said that the district administration was working round the clock for protection of the residents of Patiala district from COVID-19. He said that various teams from civil, police, health, local government and other departments were working together to defeat COVID-19 and to redress the problems faced by the people.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to take necessary precautionary measures including wearing masks and maintaining distance from each other to prevent the spread of Corona virus but strict action would be taken against the violators. On being asked upon by Daksh Barah about the care of COVID-19 patients, he said that 37, 000 tests have been conducted in the district so far but the administration has made all possible arrangements to keep the situation under control.
Thanking the 7th class student Devesh Garg for raising the issue of taking special precaution against COVID-19 for the grocery stores and vegetable venders, Mr. Kumar Amit said that children should also come forward for create awareness against COVID-19. When Maninder Singh raised the issue of pond at village Kasiana, the Deputy Commissioner assured him of necessary action by next two days.
During live interaction Mr. Kumar Amit apprised the district residents about the arrangements made for flood protection during the monsoon season and said that the district administration through the Drainage Department has undertaken a work of Rs. 2 crore through MGNREGA to strengthen the Ghaggar banks. Apart from that, all the rivers and drains passing through the district have been cleaned and the obstructions in the natural flow of water have been removed.
