Election campaign in Phillaur gets bitter after death fo 3 persons

PHILLAUR: After the mysterious deaths of three villagers during last two days   in nearby Village Gannapind which was adopted by Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary the Ongoing Election Campaign took an ugly turn in Phillaur today.

As When contacted Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Ch Vikramjit Singh expressed his ignorance about any such deaths due to consuming of poisonous liquor or some other intoxicants, but at the same time SAD MLA from Phillaur Baldev Khaira when contacted  demanded high level prove by Retd High Court Judge about the open manufacturing sale and use of illicit liquor and other intoxicants in this infamous village.

When contacted Deputy Superintendent of the Police Phillaur Davinder Singh Attri said that no death was reported owing to overdose of intoxicants. He further said that the deceased Karnail Singh(40) was suffering from HIV virus, Deceased Gurmail(52) was Asthmatic patient while the third Tersem Singh was suffering from TV and kidney problems. Notably Karnail Singh father of one daughter and two sons died at his in laws house at Noormahal on April 20 around 6.30PM, Gurmail Singh(52) a Rickshawpuller and father of four daughters and one Son breathed his last at Gannapind on April 20 around 4.45PM while the third Tersem Singh(55) a labourer and father of three daughters and one son died on April 21 at 5AM in the Village Gannapind. Though Gurmail and Tersem were cremated on Sunday evening but now the police have sent the dead body of Karnail Singh to Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination on Monday evening.

When contacted Senior Medical Officer Dr Jatinder Singh told this correspondent here this evening that the police could not send the required documents even till late Monday evening to conduct the autopsy. However SMO told that around 700 persons are being  examined and treated for drugs de-addictions.
