CHANDIGARH: Punjab Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister has directed to ensure timely promotion of department officers and employees.
Disclosing this after chairing a meeting with officers of department here at Punjab Civil Secretariat, the Minister said he has directed the department to fasttrack process of promotion for those who fulfil required criterion. A Departmental Promotion Committee meeting would be called soon and these promotions be those be finalized at the earliest. The promotions would besides fulfilling the vacant posts also strentghten overall working capabilities of the department and increase operational efficiency.
The Minister also said that Rs 309 Crores of Post Matric Scholarship have been received from centre adding he has already directed to release Rs 206 Crores out of this amount to beneficiaries. This money would be directly deposited in accounts of students, he said adding the department would get in touch with centre regarding balance scholarship amount.
Captain Amarinder Singh government is constantly making efforts for upliftment of less priviledged sections of society, he said disclosing that in line with efforts to provide quality education to youth besides providing Rs 50, 000 to Rs 2 Lakh loan facility to them.
