CHANDIGARH: Kuljit Singh Nagra, MLA from Punjab who was appointed Secretary AICC by Rahul Gandhi today submitted his resignation from the post.

In a resignation letter sent to AICC president Rahul Gandhi Nagra said that he would not be interested to continue as Secretary AICC if Rahul Gandhi has decided to resign from the post of President. He is second senior leader of Punjab Congress to resign after PPCC president Suni Jakhar who had taken responsibility for the party'd debacle in Lok Sabha polls.

Nagra wrote to Rahul Gandhi, " I am personally affected by your decision not to continue as the AICC president. Millions of Indians who posed faith in you and have voted Congress party, are looking forward for creation of mumane and egalitarian narrative in the process manipulated by misinformation and hatred. You are the only hope for society and we reassure and pledge our selfless support for the cause, which require more determination and grit at this juncture. I firmly believe that perceived defeat is our collective responsibility and your firm decision does not permit me to continue as Secretary AICC".

Interestingy Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh who had taken responsibility of winning all seats in Punjab under his 'Mission 13' has not yet responded to move by senior Congress leaders to submit the resignations taking responsibility of party's defeat. Congress has won 8 seats in Punjab.
