NWANSHAHR: Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district which is in news after a sudden surge in Covid-19 patients following the death of Baba Baldev Singh, a priest with a history of German travell via Italy to Pathlawa, had a good news today as out of 12 samples taken yesterday evening, as many as 8 have tested negative.
Deputy Commissioner Vinay Bublani said that the most satisfying thing was that the two-year-old grandson of the late Baba Baldev Singh, who was kept in isolation along with these 18 Covid-19 patients, was also successful in defeating Corona. The little boy was feted on his second birthday by the hospital staff yesterday and today he got the gift of getting freed from Covid-19 he said. The other members of Baba Baldev Singh's family, who also came out negative for the first time today, included his three grand daughters.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Aditya Uppal said the other samples which tested negative today included that of Fateh Singh, 35, a son of Baba Baldev Singh. He has been declared Corona free today after his second sample turned out negative.
Among the other samples which tested negative included Baba Gurbachan Singh (78), the head of Gurdwara Baba Ghanniya Ji Pathlawa, along with his third companion, Daljinder Singh (60), of Jhikka village. Harpal Singh (49), the Sarpanch of the village Pathlawa, also tested negative for the first test time today after living in isolation.
According to Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Bhatia, 12 samples of Covid-19 patients undergoing isolation at civil hospital here were sent for testing yesterday. Out of 11 results received today, 8 were negative and 3 were positive. He said that those whose positive results have come today , will be tested again after 5 days. He said that tests of 7 Covid-19 patients who came negative today would be repeated after 24 hours, on the basis of which they would be declared cured of Covid-19.
