FEROZEPUR : Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ferozepur organized block level Drug-abuse seminar in collaboration with Sri Guru Nanak Dev Youth Club at Govt. High School, Machhi Bugra. The chief guest of the seminar was Gurcharan Singh, DTO, Ferozepur and was presided over by Kumari Saroj Bala State Project Officer Drug-Abuse Project. Besides Sarpanch, Panch, president of youth clubs, Ashok Abecha, state president Business Cell (BJP) was the special invitee.
Sarbjeet Singh Bedi, District Youth Coordinator, shared his views on drug-abuse project and said that in Ferozepur and Fazilka districts, in total 300 villages, awareness yatra on free from dugs, motto writing, wall paintings, script writing, declamation contest, ‘nukkad’ dramas etc. were organized.
Kumari Saroj Bala, State Project Officer said that the drug-abuse programme is going on in 3000 villages in ten districts and people are being motivated for the art of real living by making them aware about the chronic disease like drug addiction.
Gucharan Singh Sandhu, DTO while addressing the youths said, “Intoxicants are ruining our society and there is a need to root out this social-evil by making the youths aware about this chronic disease”.
On this occasion, an exhibition on drug-abuse and cultural progrmme was also organized.
