CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema, has  accused the Captain Amarinder Singh government of backtracking a large number of government employees and pensioners in the state by denying their genuine rights.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters in Chandigarh on Saturday, Cheema said that the government owed a whopping amount worth crores of rupees on account pending four installments due from January 2018, saying that the anti-government employee face of the government stood exposed.

Cheema further added that it was ironical that the union government had been all set to implement 7th pay commission to its employees, the Captain government in the state was stuck at implementing the 5th pay commission for its employees, saying it had been dragging its feet on reviving the old pension scheme of 2004.

Citing the 3-year probation period condition at a fixed basic pay of Rs 10,300, the AAP leader said the government was exploiting employees, some of them possessing highly professional degrees, by appointing them on a temporary or outsource and contractual basis, saying the government had been running away from its promise of regularizing them.

Cheema said that the AAP was principally against the government’s reemployment/ extension policy offering employment after attaining superannuation age of 58 years since the norm blocked the employments avenues for the new comers in the state.
