CHANDIGARH: Dolly Dhillon, daughter of former SAD minister late Capt Kanwaljit Singh who has recently joined Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) said that Badal family has ruined Punjab and made an appeal to the people of state to throw the corrupt regime of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal out of power.

In an exclusive interview with Punjab News Express at her residence here today she said that she had joined AAP to save the future of Punjab which was number one state and now heading to become a banana republic. The SAD has allowed mafias to mushroom and controlled everything right from cable network, sand mining to transport business. The Badal government is responsible for drug menace and illegal sand mining in the state. She said that before 2007 when SAD-BJP government had taken over, she had never expected that some day sand would become a privileged and costliest commodity. The common man has sufferred on all fronts, she stated.

Dolly Dhillon who is aspirant for ticket from Dera Bassi, the home constituency of her father said that his father had worked hard to nurse the constituency and contributed a lot for the image building of Shiromani Akali Dal. She regretted that Badals ditched them and promoted N.K.Sharma who is cash cow of SAD president Sukhbir Badal. She said that she has joined AAP without any prior condition and if party would like to contest her, she would be happy to carry forward political legacy of her father.

She said that death of his father in a road accident in 2004 was still a mystry as the state government had not made public the report of magistrial inquiry conducted by a former IAS officer Jasbir Singh Bir. "We filed applications under RTI to know about the report of magistrial probe but state government never responded. She said that his father was voice of common people and only leader who was outspoken against the wrong doings of Badal.

She said that AAP was not a political party and in real sense it is making of revolution to change the existing political system in country. She felt that people of Punjab who led from frong in the freddoms truggle would again show the way to country. She is of the view that a strong under current of anger was prevailing against the SAD-BJP government in Punjab and people want a definite change. She said that the strategy of dividing anti-incumbency votes adopted by Sukhbir Badal in the 2012 assembly elections would not work again. He is exposed and people learned how to defeat his designs.

She said that Congress was not in position to change the present system as she observed Capt Amarinder Singh is a spent force now. She also felt that the fourth front floated by BJP leader Navjot Sidhu and Bains brothers was a ploy of SAD-BJP alliance and it is created to divide the opposition votes. She said that people would enbloc for AAP like they did in last Parliament elections.

Dolly Dhillon welcomed the appointment of Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi as convener of AAP." He is young and energetic and can connect with youth easily", she said. She said that no other party has young leader. She said that Sucha Singh Chhotepur belonged a class of traditional politicians who have learned all tacticts of exploiting political system. She also praided AAP national leaders Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak who are verty good organisers and responsible for creating ground level network of party. She said that they helped AAP volunteers to work in planned manner to reach door to door during 'Punjab Jodo' campaign.

She said that negative propaganda by SAD against party convener Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders would only dmaage the Akalis. She said that Kejriwal was an honest person to the core and if he has taken the deicision to lead the campaign in Punjab, it would be boon for the party. She said that it was Kejriwal who sacked his three ministers for beiong on wrong side of law. She said that Badal had always shielded the corrupt leaders and he is known for issuing clen chits to atleast half a dozed ministers who were neck deep in corruption.

Dolly Dhillon is hopeful AAP will come to power in Punjab and offer a bright future to the people. She said that AAP has done a good job in Delhi despite hurdels laid by Modi Government. The Dewlhi government has changed the face of health and education sectors and same is required in Punjab.
