Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls in Punjab from August 16

CHANDIGARH: The Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Dr. S. Karuna Raju has ordered special summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls from August 16, 2019.

Disclosing this here today, a Spokesperson of office of Chief electoral officer Punjab said that as per directions of Election Commission of India, Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to 01.01.2020 as the qualifying date program would be undertaken.

He further said that to improve the health of electoral roll, the Electors Verification Programme (EVP) and House to House verification by BLOS will be carried out before starting the revision activities The EVP activity will start from 16.08.2019 to 30.09.2019.

The electors may verify the details through Voter Help Line Mobile App.

National Voter Service Potal (NVSP), by visiting nearest Common Service

Centres (CSCs) or Voter Facilitation Centre (VFC) at ERO Office.

Elector can authenticate his entry in the electoral roll by furnishing copy of one of the following document-Indian Passport, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Ration Card,   Identity Card for Government/Semi Government Officials, and Bank Passbooks,   Farmer's Identity Card, or Any other document as approved by the Commission.

The spokesperson further said that the elector can also furnish the details of his/her family members and verify their entries, information of eligible un-enrolled family members (born on 01.01.2001) and prospective electors born between (02.01.2002

till 01.01.2003) who are residing with the elector. In case any correction in the demographically details, the elector can also submit the required form.

 Divulging more, the spokesperson said that the elector can also furnish the GIS coordinates of his house and his Observation on existing Polling Station and suggestion on alternate polling Station, it any. The Person with Disability (PwD) electors may call Voter Help Line-1950 for seeking facilitation. Booth Level Officers will verify the information /details collected from the citizen and will also collect the information/details of un- enrolled/dead/shifted electors. The BLOs would visit house to house from 01.09.2019 to 30.09.2019 for this purpose. The Integrated draft electoral roll would be published on 15.10.2019 w.r.t 01.01.2020 as qualifying date.

The Claims and objections would be taken from 15.10.2019 to 30.11.2019.During the revision period special camps will also be organized at all the polling stations on 02.11.2019, 03.11.2019, 09.11.2019 and 10.11.2019. The final publication of electoral roll will be done in the first week of January, 2020.
