7 Punjab Cabinet Ministers to participate in Education conclave on August 19 at JW Marriott

MOHALI: Joint Action Committee (JAC) representing over 1650 unaided institutes of Punjab under the leadership of Chairman, JAC, Sh. Ashwani Sekhri is going to organize an Education Conclave-2019 to deliberate on Draft National Education Policy (NEP) on 19th August at Hotel JW Marriott, Chandigarh.

Spokesman, JAC, Dr. Anshu Kataria and event coordinator, S. Charanjit Singh Walia while giving more information said that various cabinet ministers from Punjab including Sh. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sh. Om Parkash Soni, Sh. Charanjit Singh Channi, Sh. Vijay Inder Singla, S. Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, Sh. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, S. Balbir Singh Sidhu etc.

Kataria further said that Principal Sectreatries, Secretaries, Directors and Vice Chancellor’s of IKG-PTU, Jalandhar, Dr. Ajay Sharma; MRS-PTU, Bathinda, Dr. MPS Isher; Punjabi University, Patiala, Prof. (Dr.) BS Ghuman; Baba Farid University, Faridkot, (Dr.) Raj Bahadur & over 250 intellectuals from various Universities, Colleges, Schools etc would also deliberate on the education policy.

S. Manjit Singh, Senior Vice President, Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association; Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA; Sh. Jagjit Singh, President, B.Ed Federation; Mr. Charanjit Singh Walia, President, Nursing Colleges Association; Sh. Anil Chopra, Confederation of Punjab Unaided Institutions; S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Academic Advisory Forum (AAF); S. Nirmal Singh, ETT Federation; Mr. Jasnik Singh, B.Ed Association, PU; S. Sukhmander Singh Chatha, Punjab Unaided Degree Colleges Association (PUDCA); Mr. Shimanshu Gupta, ITI Association; S Rajinder Dhanoa, Polytechnic Association; Sh. Vipin Sharma, Confederation of Unaided Colleges Association; Dr. Satwinder Sandhu, B.Ed Association GNDU Colleges; etc would also be present.

It is to be mentioned that NEP is a 484-page draft consists of four parts:  dealing with “School Education, ” “Higher Education, ” “Additional Key Focus Areas, ” and “Transforming Education, ” with an addendum, and 14 appendices. It is animated by a vision to create an “India-centred” education system that will lead to the creation of an “equitable and vibrant knowledge society”.
