NAWANSHAHR: In the district today, 12 persons including 9 persons from abroad and 3 persons from other states tested positive for Covid-19 while 5 patients were discharged from the isolation ward of Guru Nanak Mission Hospital, Dhahan Kaleran for home quarantine.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Prasad Bhatia said that out of the positive people found today, 9 who had returned from abroad were there at the quarantine centre at local KC College, while two from Delhi and one from Bihar were also in solitary confinement. He said that after discharge of 5 patients and arrival of 12 new cases today , the number of active cases in the district has increased to 19.
He said that so far 9643 samples have been taken in the district out of which 9010 samples have been found negative. Besides, the total number of positive cases in the district has gone up to 142 while 22 cases are from 'out of the district' . He said that today 230 new samples were taken while 191 reports from the earlier samples are also awaited.
