CT & Jalandhar Police promotes healthy living through WOW

JALANDHAR : With the motive to encourage Jalandharites to stay fit and healthy, CT Group of Institutions along with Jalandhar Police Commissionerate and Model Town Shopkeepers Association organized a Weekend of Wellness (WOW) in the open streets of Model Town. Hundreds of people of different age bars participated in this gala fitness event in which they broke into synchronized dance moves and pumping workouts in a traffic free zone.
The Model Town streets from 6am to 9am were cordoned off for the citizens. They used the streets for recreation that promotes health, wellbeing, fitness, togetherness and joy.

The event of its kind galvanized the people to participate in a shared vision of an active and healthy way of living. It was organized with an aim to inspire people to use the space in a holistic manner. It was all about opening streets to people, sharing resources, transforming communities. It was a milestone crafted to galvanize the citizens to participate in a shared vision of an active, car-free lifestyle. The traffic was not allowed for three hours as residents reformed their roads as open-air dance studios, art hubs, gymnasiums and yoga institutes.
Many fun filled and healthy activities took place like cross fit, cycling, Horse Riding, Circuit training, Bolly X, Vedic Yoga, Aerobics, Zumba and Bhangra on Live Dhol, Table Tennis Gully Cricket, Tug of War, Open DJ, Badminton, Soccer, and many more.

Special Diet Food Corners and Kids Zone were also the main attractions of the event.

Furthermore, during an interactive session of Coffee with Cops in which Commissioner of Police Praveen Kumar Sinha said that people really enjoyed this initiative which has buoyant us to organize such events in future as well and the efforts of CT Group are truly commendable in organizing this event.

Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said that the endeavor aimed to encourage people to start walking, cycling and planting more trees for a healthy living with different events. Like last year, the event is organized on Sunday to promote healthy lifestyle and remind the citizens to reclaim the streets as it belongs to them. He thanked all the supporters and participants for making this event a grand success.
