AMRITSAR: Bhartiya Janta Party state executive member Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today hailed the party’s landslide victory in Gujrat and
Himachal Pradesh, terming it as a vindication of the Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s centre government’s pro-poor and reformatory measures. He said the people of the two important states have given credence to Modi’s agenda of `development’ and progress of the country.

Chhina who was part of the group of the party leaders who broke into celebrations at the party’s Khanna Smarak office here today also hailed Union Finance minister Arun Jaitely and other senior leadership of the party including Amit Shah, party’s national President for steering the party to the historic win in Gujrat and wresting the Himachal.

The party leaders meanwhile danced to the tune of dhols, fired crackers and distributed sweets even though they were upset over the party’s `unsatisfactory performance in the local Municipal Corporation polls the results of which were announced yesterday. ``The MC polls in Punjab were rigged and the official machinery was misused by the ruling Congress. The elections were nothing but a murder of
democracy’’, said Chhina.

He said Modi had declared that elections to Gujrat and Himachal were being fought on the issue of development and the people of Gujrat have shown confidence in the leadership of Modi and Shah. He congratulated the senior leaders at national level and in state for the landslide victory.
