JALANDHAR:The Commissionerate police have issued various prohibitory orders to maintain the law and order in its jurisdiction.
Exercising the powers vested under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act 1973, the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Balkar Singh ordered all restaurants, clubs, bars, pubs or any licensed eating or drinking place to not to take any order for food, beverages, alcohol and no new customer should be allowed to enter in its premises after 11 pm.
Further, all restaurants, clubs, bars, pubs or any licensed eating or drinking places should be closed down by 12 am (midnight). In the case of Ahatas attached to liquor vends, these should be completely shut down by 11 pm.
DCP has also banned the playing of DJs or loud music systems after 10 pm.
These orders would be in force till January 15, 2020.
