Jakhar claims Congress victory in all four by elections in Punjab

PHAGWARA: While claiming victory of the Congress Candidates on all four assembly seats including Phagwara, Mukerian, Jalalabad and Dakha, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Sunil Jakhar held  Shiromani Akali Dal responsible for the prevailing situation of the state and the people of the state heaved a sigh of relief after return back of the Congress Government in Punjab.

Talking with The Tribune before addressing  Two Election meetings in Phagwara, Jakhar said that SAD  Government had prevailed a Jungle Raj in the state by politicalising the civil and police administration .

He said now SAD leaders wanted to politicalise the religious congregations even during the 550th celebrations of Parkash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Describing SAD—BJP alliance as selfish motive alliance, Jakhar said SAD was adopting double standard politics as SAD are contesting elections in Punjab in alliance with BJP whereas SAD is adopting different stand in Haryana.

Replying a question about increasing crime and the problem of drugs, He said that  Punjab Government led by Captain Amarinder Singh however succeeded to curb the menaces to sufficient extent, but he admitted that much more is remaining to do in this regard. PPCC Chief in the presence of Punjab Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora, Congress MLA Navtej Singh Cheema and Congress Candidate Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal however admitted that several more steps will have to be taken to provide better infrastructure and administrative system to facilitate the people. Jakhar however expressed his concern about running the youths to abroad due to lack of employment in the country as Modi Government did nothing practical to touch the pulse of the people. He claimed that Chief Minister initiated much by organising Job Fairs to provide jobs to the youths. Commenting upon Opposition Parties role Jakhar said that the people have already rejected Aam Adami Party after experiment while BSP was loosing its base.

Showering the words of praise for Punjab Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora, Jakhar said, the minister is working hard to establish the industry in the state. Arora on this occasion said, the congress party will make the state more prosperous by establishing more industry in the state. Later addressing election meeting in support of the Congress Candidate Dhaliwal, Jakhar appealed to the people to vote in support of the congress to stabilise the economy of the state and its all round development. Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora, Former Minister Joginder Singh Maan, BCC president Sanjeev Bugga, BCC( R ) President Daljit Raju and Congress Candidate Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal also addressed the meetings.
