IIBC, IAI and IHSC honour Consul General Sudhakar Dalela

INDIANAPOLIS: Indiana India Business Council, India Association of Indianapolis and Indianapolis Hyderabad Sister City Committee hosted a reception in honor of new Consulate General of India, Chicago Mr Sudhakar Dalela at India Palace Banquet Hall, 4213 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis here today. It was Mr Sudhakar's first visit to Indianapolis after assuming the office.
Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard presented a shawl to Mr Sudhakar Dalela. Raju Chinthala, Founder and President Indiana India Business Council, Chandra Krishnamaneni, Sravan Patharla, Dr. Ajay Ponugoti, Ramu Chinthala, Sivakumar Vavilala, Shash Goyal, Shanti Karthik, Ravi Sajja and Rajan Arora were present on the occasion.
Among the elite gathering Consul of Mexico in USA Luis E Franco, who had served in India in Mexico Embassy, for six years, was also present on the occasion.
Danish Punjabi singer Anita Lerche sang Mahatma Gandhi's favourite bhajan "Vaishnav Jan to Tene Kahiye'. Mr Sudhakar Dalela praised Anita for singing the "Vaishnav Jan to Tene Kahiye' bhajan. The Consul General invited Anita to Chicago to participate in the function to be organised on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The Consul General also said Bhajan by Anita has made the evening "very Indian."
Speaking on the occasion Mr Sudhakar said "India has a fastest growing economy in the world. It was seven per cent last financial year and will achieve higher growth rate. This economy has lot of strength. We have young population and a huge population is between the age of 18-35. It opens a lot of opportunities for US and US businesses with India. Our partnership with US is vibrant, rich and multifaceted. Recently US Secretary of Commerce led a US business delegation to India. We are engaged at different levels to promote partnership and friendship.
There is a huge connection between India and US. We are trying to work together to build more partnership which will be beneficial to both USA and India."
Mr Sudhakar promised Mr Bharat Patel that the Consulate General in Chicago will provide service which will be efficient, transparent and fast.
The Consul General accepted the invitation of Greg Ballard to witness Indy 500.
Earlier, Mr Sudhakar had met Mayor Brainard of Carmel, who also gave the tour of the beautiful city and the Palladium- state of the art center for performing arts. Carmel city is home to vibrant Indian American community. "Mayor, we appreciate your support to India-US ties."
