CHANDIGARH: Jan Sahyog  Ekta Residents welfare Association  in its meeting held yesterday  urged the Chandigarh administration to remove the  encroachments  in sector 51. Most of the ground floor  residents of MIG flats of  Chandigarh Housing Board   have illegally encroached  upon  land in front  and  sides of their flats creating problems for upper floor residents.

Parshotam Garg   General Secretary of the Association said that ground floors residents have illegally encroached upon road berms land in front and sides of flats by erecting partition walls with hedges thus creating problems of parking for 3 upper floors flats owners.  It resulted in to disputes amongst the residents and number of times police was called. Even fire extinguisher vehicle cannot enter some of the area due to huge congestion on road.

Even the common areas where the water & drainage system is laid underground have also been encroached by raising floor level and as such there is no approach to carry out urgent maintenance of water supply systems & drainage system.

A large numbers of representations have been submitted to the concerned authorities but the matter has not been resolved so far.
