World Population Day celebrated at HMV

JALANDHAR : World Population Day was celebrated under the aegis of NSS Unit of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen guided the unit to hold panel discussion on the challenges and prospects of population of India. More than 200 students participated in the panel discussion. Programme Officer Dr. Anjana Bhatia informed the students that population growth needs to be checked in order to solve the problems of unemployment, pollution, poverty and depletion of natural resources. Students came up with wonderful ideas for creating awareness regarding family planning. Ms. Alka coaxed the students to work on solutions. Speaking on this occasion Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that Indians must realize their strength as they have the highest population of youth and it is imperative that the youth work as a strong positive human resource make India a superpower in coming times.
