PRINTECH EXPO 2019 held at Layalpur Khalsa college Jalandhar

JALANDHAR: Aimed at honing the professional skills of students related to media like Journalism & Mass Communication, Multimedia & Printing Technology, ‘PRINTECH EXPO 2019’, an inter-college competition was organised by PG Department of Computer Science & IT of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.

Amit Sharma, Senior a journalist from Jalandhar was the Chief Guest of the day while Dr. Namrata Joshi, Associate Professor and Head GNDU Regional Campus, Jalandhar was the guest of honour. The dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and HOD Dr. Manohar Singh.

Speaking on the occasion,   Sharma talking about the importance of media and discussed its contemporary situation. Dr. Joshi stressed on the importance of media education in present social scenario. Principal Dr. G.S.Samra congratulated the department on organizing the event while Dr. Manohar Singh said that such events are integral part of the academic growth of the students and thanked the participating institutes.

The students competed in 10 events including RJying, Report Writing, Photography, Clay Modelling, Rap, Personality Faceoff, Digital Ad Designing & Nukkad Natak.

Prominent media personalities acted as judges for various events including  Taran Sachdeva, Shaina Kochhar, Jatinder Mahal, Parminder Kashyap, Akash Kumar and Prof. Gulzar Singh.

In this Competition Lyallpur Khalsa College scored 34 points but didn’t claim the overall trophy. So C.T. Institute of Higher Studies, Shahpur bagged the overall trophy with 21 points while St. Soldier Institute of Management & Technology, Jalandhar remained runner up with 13 points.
The event was dedicated to the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev and most of the events were dedicated to the vision & thinking of these great personalities. Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Archana & Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Bains conducted the stage. Dr. Vijayta Taneja, Prof. Vinay Shweta, Prof Retinder Kaur, Prof. Vibha Trikha, Prof. Harpreet, Prof. Anu and Prof. Shilpa also witnessed the occasion.
