Lecture on Consumer Law organised at Rayat Bahra University

MOHALI: Justice Paramjit Singh Dhaliwal, former Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, emphasized on the need to create awareness among the students on laws pertaining to consumer protection so that the young legal aspirants can further spread specific knowledge for the benefit of the society. He also apprised the audience of the changes being proposed in the field of Consumer Laws.

He was delivering a Special Lecture on “Consumer Law in India: New Trends” organised by the University School of Law of the Rayat Bahra University today.

Justice Paramjit Singh Dhaliwal, who is presently President of the Punjab State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, emphasized that it was important to provide an insider perspective on upcoming trends in the field of Consumer Laws in India.

While addressing the young legal aspirants of University School of Law in the jam-packed Campus Auditorium, Dr Daljit Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, highlighted the organization of a series of special lectures by distinguished legal luminaries and academicians at University School of Law was an endeavour in the direction of realization of his vision of transforming University School of Law into a Centre of Academic Excellence.

Dr MS Bains, Dean, University School of Law, presided over the function and proposed a vote of thanks. The proceedings were conducted under supervision and coordination of Dr Sonia Grewal Mahal, Vice-Principal, University School of Law, Rayat Bahra University.
