Diwali Mela at GNA University

PHAGWARA: GNA University celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm and fervour. The university was decorated on this occasion hoping that this festival of light brings bright sparkles of joy and happiness in everyone’s life.

Diwali has also brought  brightness with light, prosperity with Laxmi and gala gaiety to GNA University Diwali Mela with star  performer ‘Ranjit Bawa’ taking every young heart to the ‘Chandigarh Waliye’ with his musical extravaganza.  GNA presents on the occasion sizzling sound and songs, and scintillating stalls of mouthwatering cuisines, mocktails and artistic grooming. To cherish the day, RJ Raman set the mood of the young audience with his verbal spark.

To make it a joyful day for the students, a cultural extravaganza was also organized. The students displayed their talents by numerous performances like Folk Singing, Folk Dance – Bhangra, etc. The Mela, on the other hand was lined up with scrumptious food junctures, trendy clothing and other remarkable booths set up by the students.

The students enjoyed the show thoroughly and expressed their joy and gratitude with a thundering applause. The spirit of Diwali was kept up by declaring the winners of the lucky draw in the benign presence of Mr. Vijay Sampla, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in India.

S. Gurdeep Singh, Pro - Chancellor and Dr. VK Rattan, Vice Chancellor appreciated the talent. They offered their warm wishes to the children and urged that children should celebrate pollution free Diwali in its purest form by lighting lamps and sharing with the less fortunate. They discouraged the students from bursting crackers.

The whole university reverberated with energy and enthusiasm hoping that this Diwali would bring utmost peace and prosperity in everybody’s life. The festival of fun and excitement came to an end with loads of joy and happiness sparkling on the faces of every GUite.
