Applications open for International Craft Awards (ICA) 2018

NEW DELHI: Craft Village, announces application open for the forthcoming International Craft Awards 2018. The awards have been instituted to recognize not only the Craftsperson and Artisans, but also everyone working for the Craft Sector, be it organizations, Institutions, Professionals, Designers, and collective efforts of a Village, Community etc. So far most of the Craft Awards are only limited to Artisans and Craftsperson only.

Expressing her views, Iti Tyagi, Founder of Craft Village said, “This year, ICA 2018 aims to have an even wider reach, and find and reward the champions of the crafts who have made significant contributions in the Craft sector across the world, specifically skills, knowledge, preservation & revival of crafts, innovations, new ideas and all what has helped these age old crafts grow. Similar to last year, an eminent jury will select the finalists and the awardees in the different categories.”

·     Application Deadline: The last date for submitting the application is 30th October 2018.
Last year, International Craft Awards received applications from more than 30-countries and had finalists from 13 countries for the awards. The chief guest was  Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development, Government of India and guest of honor was - Dr. Ghada Hijjawi Qaddumi, President of World Crafts Council- Asia Pacific Region.  

“The participation was fantastic in number and kind of crafts. It was thrilling to see the good number of enthusiastic aware students who were so attentive and responsive during the interactive session. I was very much impressed by the presence of Her Excellency the Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development, Govt. of India – Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, whose appreciation of the awardees achievement and encouraging words and attitude, filled them with pride. I was very happy with such important support from the government side.” said Dr. Ghada Hijjawi Qaddumi, President of World Craft Council, APR said in her letter of appreciation to Craft Village.
